The increase in available oxygen through conscious breathing helps bring the body into balance and maintain its proper functioning. With practice, one can develop deeper breathing as a habit, and have sustained positive effects on the body, the mind, the emotions and the spirit.
The day-to-day stress of our lives has a cumulative effect on us. When stressed, we have a tendency to block or hold our breath. The "fight-or-flight" mechanism which causes us distress is triggered by shallow, rapid-cycle breathing. Holding and restricting the breath is a major way of holding onto fear, thus greatly decreasing our natural vibrational flow. When we learn to breathe more optimally, this flow of energy can be restored in our body/mind/spirit.
Breathwork can benefit us on every level: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. To learn more about the benefits of conscious breathing on each aspect of your life, click the buttons below.
